Smashing time had by all
July 10th, 2007 by adminEight local young people
yesterday spent their afternoon clearing up the waste and rubbish from the existing project building to ensure the
building work can go ahead as planned.
This involved smashing up items that were not useable, clearing up,
sweeping up and filling a whole skip full of things that needed to be moved. Even the industrial strength
mallet got broken!!!!!!!!!
Simon Ashby, Assistant Project Manager said: “So often in the press we hear
bad stories of teenagers causing trouble but to see these guys committed to making a difference to their own
community is really inspirational and shows great signs for the future.”
During the course of the year, much
of the interior work on the building will be done by volunteers, many of whom live within a few miles of the
project.
This will include painting, decorating, plastering and lots of other things, so if you want to be
involved please visit the Contact Us area of the website.
