Last week saw the Brierley
Hill Project host a community event on Lawyers Field that saw around 250 people attend for what was a great night.
The event was a culmination of 5 days of intense Community Action work by 30 local teenagers who had spent
their time involved in environmental projects, speaking to residents, running childrens clubs, providing youth work
and a range of other things.
The night itself included a Bouncey Castle, Face Painting and games for
children as well as music and a free barbecue for local residents.
John Cook, Volunteer Project Manager
said: “It demonstrated again that by investing into your community, you can see many people coming together and the
atmosphere was excellent.
“We hope this is another step towards making a real difference on this estate, and
more and more people are getting to know of the project before we open later in the year.”
One of the
promising things was the number of young people who attended the event, and the feedback from all who attended was
very positive.
