Half term makes it full time at BHP!

October 30th, 2010 by admin

It has been a great week at the BHP with a lot of folks using our facilities. The holiday club went really well – reports will follow once the leaders have caught their breath. The cafe was also extremely busy. The team were excellent and there was a great “feel” about the place and many thanks to the extra volunteers who stepped in this week to make things possible.

Scarlet Thread ladies group met for free haircuts, a go at Nail Art and a lot of laughs. Meanwhile, Kingdom Kidz Club collected food for the Food Bank with their Harvest Focus. Finally, one of our long term volunteers has got a job – that is great news!

The “Big Society” working in the detail

October 13th, 2010 by admin

A helper at Community Food Bingo at BHP has helped raise nearly a thousand pounds to help a client with family funeral costs. Food Bingo runs once a fortnight, when new friendships are formed and a good time is had by all. We are proud of our great band of helpers and if you want to know more about this, check the link from the BHP timetable.
