Grants have been crucial in our development as a project in the last 18 months, but of equal importance has been the other finance we have raised, much of which has been as a direct result of action by local people and/or local organisations as detailed below.
• We are eager to engage local people to support the project and our current regular monthly donations given by local people, we currently receive many subscriptions.
• Local young people raised over £3,000 through a series of sponsorship activities
• A number of local organisations have given us one-off donations and we would like to thank them for their contributions which are so important for the success of our project
• A number of local people contributed by buying and sponsoring certain parts of the building including ‘buying a brick’ and larger items such as radiators
• At the start of the project in November 2005 a Church offering was taken and £12,000 raised towards our ongoing costs
