The project has a number of key aims for the coming months. You will see an overview of these aims below, but to get more information on how the outcomes will be achieved, click here.

Community Cohesion

  • Community Café
    - Our intentions for the café are to open 3 different kinds of clubs, they being: a breakfast club, evening drop-in facility and OAP lunchtime club. Our target is to reach around 50 people over these 3 groups.
  • Parent and Toddler Group
    - Our aim for this is to establish a weekly group to around 20 families.
  • Sports and Leisure Activities
    - The range of sport and leisure activities will be geared up for the local area.

 

Lifeskills and Opportunites

  • Training
    - We will be offering a variety of NVQ courses and workshops.
  • IT Provision
    - Within the provision for IT workstations and internet access provided.
  • Learning Opportunites
    - We will be teaming up with 15 key partner agencies to develop further learning opportunities and will be offering vocational courses.
  • Sign Posting
    - We will be signposting to a number of different agencies.

 

Improve local health

  • Physical Activities
    - Do you like dance? Aerobics? Popular sporting activities? We have it for you.
  • Community Café
    - In our community café, we aim to serve good healthy and affordable meals.
  • Health Awareness Events
    - The aim for these scheduled events is to help improve local health.

 

Local people improving their communities

  • Volunteer Teams
    - Improving safety directly around the BHP, on the estate and to improve surrounding buildings and homes.
  • Consultation
    - We will be offering different kinds of consultation groups.
  • Volunteering at project
    - If you want to volunteer at the actual project, we may be looking for help in the community café and parent and toddler groups.
  • Young peoples social action week
    - The purpose of the social action week is to raise an awareness of the community's needs and to see them fulfilled.
