Food Glorious Food!
THANK YOU to David Lloyd Gym in Brierley Hill for the food collection. Their staff and members donated a whopping 150kg of food. AMAZING!!!!

Food shortages for June 2017

We are always touched by the level of generosity we see for the Foodbank and the people in crisis who need this support.  The donations received help provide 3 days supply of food for a person in need and can provide someone with a very much needed bit of breathing space.  We are often asked what is needed so here are the food shortages for June.

Youth Update from Jen

C4C
Exam time is over! Hurrah. We have had the opportunity to reassure and encourage over the last month it can be tough at times for young people to keep going and continue to try their best right until the end. Well done all! It’s time to think about the next step for many and we are able to support some of the older young people to look through some apprenticeships online.

Footy on Friday
27 young people joining in the fun on the astro-turf pitch as work on the new pitch hasn’t started yet. It’s good to be back on the pitch even if it’s only temporary. The young people are happy to be using the astro-pitch as having a few weeks playing on a nearby patch of grass has increased the level of appreciation for this facility.

Bike Marking with the PCSO’s / Police
This was a really good session with the PCSO’s (Ryan and Jim) coming down during the hour footy session and marking the young people’s bikes. Now if they get stolen and found they should get their bike returned. It was brilliant to see the positive connection between the young people and the Police. Usually the relationship/ connection can be because they’ve done something wrong, so it was nice to be able to provide a positive opportunity for them to connect.

Detached
We had contact with 17 young people tonight. It was good to get out and about and see some of the young people in a relaxed space on the streets, just chatting and connecting. We talked about a range of topics from families, friends and relationships to the recent events in London.
