It was a busy old week at the BHP despite us having a day off on Monday for the bank holiday. On Wednesday Ian Austin MP for Dudley North came in for a visit and it was our absolute pleasure to give him a tour around the project and show him what we do here. With the drop-in buzzing with activity, the foodbank and Paul from Citizen’s Advice in full swing he got the opportunity to see, talk and experience things first hand. We hope he enjoyed it as much as we did! We even managed to get a quick photograph for our gallery with our very own Stacey Simpson and Pastor Samson Ayi.
On Thursday Sylvia, Margaret and Chris from South Street came in to cook a hot nutritious meal for children on school break and I was delighted to lend a hand. Ellie had prepared a craft making endangered animals which I had a lot of fun doing with the children and that also meant I was excused from the washing up – bonus! Thanks Chris, Sylvia and Gemma for taking on the task.
Well the end of term is hurtling towards us and that also means that South Street’s Fun Day is on it’s way. The date for your diary is 29th August from 12pm until 4pm. Ideas so far have included a bouncy castle, mini beast safari and of course food.
