the building

The South Street Baptist Church is an old Victorian Building that until recently was used by a relatively small Christian congregation for a couple of hours on a Sunday. For the remainder of the week there was very little if any access for the local residents.

Within the two story building there are a number of rooms which had not have been used for many years, which meant they had fallen into a state of disrepair and were unsuitable to be used, however this is now about to change.

Legally owned by the Heart of England Baptist Association, the Brierley Hill Project has a 15 year lease on the building and with this lease in place ensured all of these rooms are made structurally sound and are renovated and refurbished to transform it into an all-purpose community centre.

This Church building with its prime location is going to be changed from a dormant structure into the hub of community activity within the area.
