This Brierley Hill Project began in September 2005 following discussions between members of the South Street Baptist Church on the Chapel Street Estate, Brierley Hill and Amblecote Christian Centre.

Whilst the centre in Amblecote was experiencing difficulties in finding space to extend its community activities and had large numbers of young volunteers wanting to work in the community, the Baptist Church had a building that was not being used to its full potential but was in need of repair and restoration to make it a viable community centre.

It was clear that the opportunities to support the local community in the immediate vicinity of the Church Premises were incredible as the main tower block flats overlook these premises The project was born out of a joint desire from both churches to use their resources in a more effective way.

A Trust was formed involving three representatives from both churches and an independent Chairperson and through extensive consultation with residents, the project has begun to explore the best ways to impact every residents life in a positive way.
