“During the open sessions we get to discuss key issues with clients which enables the team to identify bespoke solutions to improve their circumstances. Working with the team at BHP gives me great satisfaction in knowing the support and mentoring we give really makes a difference.”

-Steve (Volunteer)

At The Brierley Hill Project we are keen to encourage and equip those from the local community to support with various aspects of the project. We want to empower and enthuse people to join with us in our mission to walk with people on their life journey and bring about positive change.

We have a variety of areas we would like people to get involved with including; making tea and coffee, chatting with clients in our open sessions and making them feel at ease, leading football sessions, supporting with specific activities or events, being a community ambassador to promote the great work we do or helping maintain the garden. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer and want to enquire about the next steps, please complete the form below and one of our team will be in contact. We look forward to hearing from you.

“I have known about BHP since it began, but am now learning more about the range of

community work it is involved in, since I joined the project as a volunteer in April 2022. I

attend the Wednesday drop-in sessions, working alongside other volunteers to welcome

people, chat to them about their circumstances, issue foodbank vouchers where

appropriate and look at what other support may be available to them.

The team are friendly and committed to supporting local people who are facing challenges

in their lives. BHP is a great resource for the community and it’s good to see first hand the

real difference it can make. It’s a great place to volunteer!”

What we do

Youth Services

At the BHP we want to support young people.

We do this by making contact in three different ways; 1 to 1 mentoring, detached youth work and an open football session. We want to create a space where young people feel safe, are being supported and listened to. nothing is too big or small.

Adult Services

Adult support is usually on a one-to-one basis as we recognise every person’s circumstances are different.

We deal with a diverse range of issues such as benefits, housing, addiction, finance, health, crime and anything else that may be of concern.
