Youth

At the BHP we want to support young people. we do this by making contact in three different ways; 1 to 1 mentoring, detached youth work and an open football session. We want to create a space where young people feel safe, are being supported and listened to. nothing is too big or small.

What We Do

  • 1:1 mentoring support. This gives young people the chance to have more focused, personal support, just for them. This could be about mental and emotional health and well being, or support around practising for a driving licence, CV writing or applying for jobs. Whatever the need we’re happy to listen, chat things through and help get specialist support if needed.

  • Detached youth work is about meeting the young people of our area where they are at. This means that when they’re out and about on the streets of the estate, in parks and other community spaces during the day, so are we. By our detached youth workers being out several times a week we are creating space for young people to talk and be listened to. Our team will ensure anyone who may need additional help and support are signposted to the right people, whether that be the BHP or another organisation who is more suited to support the young person.

  • We run ‘Friday Footy’ which is open to any local child or young person aged 8yrs – 21yrs. It happens at the Dell Stadium, on the 4G pitch and is totally free.

It’s once a week, 5pm – 6pm and you’ve guessed it, on a Friday! It runs throughout the year, including school holidays! You’ll need to register on your first session, then return a consent form within 2 weeks to continue to come along. This just helps us keep everyone safe and can be renewed annually.
